Chaps i have another thing i wondered i could get help with, my airbag light is on it has been since i changed the steering wheel to a momo one, but i used teh momo resister plug and 2 am fuse but i knocked and the airbag light is on, now i can put teh resitor fuse back in and makesure it doesn't move but is there a easy way to turn the airbag light off? i have read alot about the fiatecuscan which i think can do it, but what else do i need and does anyone know how to sort this?

thanks in advance

Robin

Airbag lights are a pain, you can't even take the bulb out as that light is an LED hard wired into the circuit board.
Assuming the Momo wheel does not have an airbag, the easiest way may be to take the instrument panel out and stick a piece of black tape over the light. That is what I did after weeks of trying to sort out the problem with my airbag light on all the time.:)

Thanks Buddy, i did do that but i was gonna try and resolve it properly, i did manage to do it on a punto and 2 marea's before but i knocked this one out whilst i had it running DOH! i can do that but this year will be a fail on the mot when it goes in so want to get this sorted out

Just had a chat with my tame MOT tester. He reckons the airbag light will be a fail if it is illuminated in about five weeks time but there will be no requirement for the light to come on with the ignition then go out as there is with the abs light. So if he is right providing the tester can't see the light he can't fail it.:)

really that is awesome news, i will just pop the gauge pod out and see if i can de-solder the airbag light then i would not need to worry about it :) Thanks dude

thats what i did when i swaped my wheel for a leather one, just stuffed the airbag light hole with black tape

works a treat even passed MOT (y)

We know if this is officially an MOT fail yet, got mine tomorrow!
Also, my light is on because I changed the seats without disconnecting the battery, does the airbag actually still work if the light is on?
