Hi all

I've got the dreaded airbag light on in my mk2 and it's due for mot on Wednesday (didn't realise that this was now a failure). I've bought the coloured cables, got mes and obdII interface, however it doesn't seem to be connecting?
Any advice my fellow punto lovers?

Do you have Engine multiscan? There is a video on YouTube about how to set up the system.
 
if you are confident that the lead (s) is/are talking to the ecu then keep trying
i had the same problem today
used the kkl switched lead in the end
 
Hey redxl yeah I've got the full version of multiecuscan and it's connecting to some degree but when I try to get it to read the airbag fault it won't (soooo frustrating).
S and b yeah deep right cables so I don't understand why the damn thing won't read the airbags lol. I was thinking about trying my Bluetooth obdII to see if that works (it's newer than the other). Do you think this might work or make things worse? I don't have the kkl cable cos I'm an idiot and forgot to check the item fully before I bought the cables.
Just stressing a little now cos mot is in 2 days :-(

jon says its kkl and red lead,i cant remember as i ended up using a switched kkl so it would seem you wont get comms because it cant connect im afraid
there must be a local ebayer selling a kkl you can get before test
by the way if you blank the bulb out so motman cant see it he cant fail but only advise

only saying as this would give you a window,might make him prod your floors more mind:D
 
Yeah I've been using the red lead (i read A LOT of posts on here before trying lol). Just looked on eBay and the closest is Nottingham (I'm in Leeds so not exactly round the corner lol).
I'm getting close to blanking it as it's the only thing it'll fail on (my sister is a mechanic so she's done the work needed).
Out of curiosity what'd happen if I tried the Bluetooth obd? Don't want to be setting off airbags haha
 
Why can't the shops sell these pigging leads? Lol would make life so much easier for us punto owners lol

maybe some is near chrissy could sort it
 
Wakefield ain't far but I'm at work til 5. However if you're coming to Leeds and could bring it with you I think it's safe to say you'd be my new best friend haha
