airbag isolation switch - glovebox

Hi,

MES says PASS air bag isol. switch Short Circuit..,
is this the switch itself of the wiring supply..??,

I'm going to try a Punto airbag isolation switch at the weekend,

do they need a correct key?,
or are basic.. - like old filler caps..??,

No, any old fiat key. You could use a screwdriver if it was the right shape.

ta,
basically If I turn the switch to OFF , then I can clear the fault code,

turned back on fault is there + cannot be cleared,

BUT apparently driving it this week in OFF position the light flickers on + off randomly.., so may well be a dodgy connection,

think I'll get a punto switch from a yard tomorrow

then see what happens in all the scenario's,

OK,
Punto switch now fitted,
electrically perfect, plug + play.., both airbag lights now OFF

However, the 00'ish punto key profile is different from the panda '04,
so I cannot de-select the passenger airbag,
it does look as if I can change the "lock" part of the switch by dis-assembly..,
