Hi - anyone got any ideas if there's any software and lead to hook up to my laptop to read airbag module errors and reset?

Ta

I've had airbag errors for ages - I've cleaned all the connectors, and replaced the OCS mat with an emulator - this worked until recently I occasionally get an airbag light come on - goes off after a short while - is more frequent when car cold/early morning - any suggestions?
Ta

I've monitored the battery voltage before starting, after starting and whilst warning comes on - voltage is 12.0 before start, 14.4 when running and whilst warning comes up - as I thought it may be a weak battery.

I'd like software to be able to point me in the right direction as to which component is causing the problem - my local fiat dealership are terrible,

Ta

I was hoping to be able to diagnose the component myself, as I get that many airbag warnings I'd be taking the car to the dealer every week - my local dealership is new to Fiat, as they're a shared franchise with Ford - what I was hoping for is a lead and some software to be able to check the Airbag ECU module,

Ta

What's a standard charge for putting the car on Fiat Examiner to diagnose airbag faults? And does the car have to have the fault light lit when tested, or does the sytem clear the faults if the light isn't lit?

As so Scotty should have said 'this should' and not 'this will' then lol :p

Lol, he actually said "will prob..", speed reader of the year? fail...

If you want to get your hands dirty and have a go yourself try KWP71diag, it works with a vagcom 409.1 cable (sometimes called alfadiag or KKL cable) and with a very very simple modification will retrieve error codes from your ABS and airbag ecu.

Ive had this working pretty well on my '03 selespeed.

But when I have used it in the past it doesnt always tell you what the various error codes mean, so you need to either ask around on the yahoo group below or a bit of googling..

But..

vagcom usb cable - under £15 on ebay
kwp71diag - £free from the unidiag yahoo group.
see here http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/unidiag/

If you arent that electronics savvy though do as T said and get it done on examiner
