General air filter

hi peeps i went to get a new air filter for my qubo and gave them the reg , had a choice so went with the dearer mann filter euro 5 , on taking the old one out it was all flat with a grill at the end , replaced it with the mann one which was the same dims and grill but not flat underneath kind of l shaped with fits the sloping airbox so its been in there about 2 weeks now , i have noticed a drop in mpg of about 4-5 could this be connected , the average mpg on the b trip which i have not reset since having it was 54.5mpg this has dropped to 54.2 any ideas please ?

Your new one may be restricting air flow a little.
I bought a piper cross one and i get on av 2 miles more to a gallon.
I prefer the foam reusable type as they a ''free flow filters, and last forever.
