General air bag emulator

hi
i have been getting the dreaded air bag warning light,as my mot is due i have purchased one of the emulators after trying spraying all the connectors with cleaner spray.
i have plugged in the emulator but the light goes off for a second then comes back on and stays on as before.
just wondering if anyone else has purchased one of these and could tell me if there is anything else i need to do.
