AH help!

was driving along today got to me nans house n parked up on a ramp n my oil light came on ..

A? noooo its got plenty of oil in service was only 1k ago

so i reved engine and it went off then let go ... came back on at idle!

my m8 thinks its low oil pressure which could be leading to a ****ed pump! DOH help

steep enuff to move the oil to the front away from the sensor i spose! about this steep (shows imaginary hand movement)

Sounds like a dodgy pump to me - happened on my old Citroen ZX. Make sure the oil level is good and there are no leaks.

Possible that the angle of the ramp got all the oil into one part of the sump, but I reckon it'd have to be a seriously steep ramp and low oil level to affect the pump pick-up. If the pump pick-up was affected, just revving engine wouldn't get much more oil into the pump, so the light wouldn't have gone out? Might be wrong though....

Its a 1.4, probably a mix of partly blocked oilways and an old worn pump

not a clue.

Just make sure you are using the correct oil (10w40 semi synth) and a fiat oil filter.

i toook it to the place i brought it from n they said it was the OIL PRESSURE SWITCH .... doesnt help me in anyway like! gonna do it saturday! nufin but trouble this car! lol

Yeah, just unplug the pressure switch and never be bothered with the light again

Are they going to do an oil pressure test on it?

Its an old car, you've done a far few mods to it and from all accounts you do seem to rag the nuts off it so I'm not really surprised things go wrong

err what are u on about? i dont rag it about at all! and an Air filter and Zaust isnt gonna do alot to the car is it? oh and wheels! done nothing engine wise!

i hardly ever thrash the car about! its my pride n joy n cant afford it to be smashed up third party insurace! not a clever idea!

i dunno wht they gonna do ill suggest it tho if they say they have then ill take it else were i cant afford my cr to be blowing up in a rush! im a taxi service for work lol £160 a month extra on my wages to pick people up lol .. need a car!

didn't you say people were turning to look cos of your loud exhaust?

Echaust and filters are engine mods BTW.

The garage really needs to check the oil pressure, it could just be the pickup pipe is a bit sludged up as it only happened on a slope. Thats a quick fix.

yeah people look but it aint cause im thrashing it .. coulda been in first gear pulling off! ...its loud in any gear at any RPM .. dunna wanna argue about it lol dnt need enemy's im not planing on beeing the next RR!

ill ask um to do it! im gonna be there any how apparently its just the switch but u lot know alot more than the stupid ****s that sold me the car!! good job he said he would fix it this weekend otherwise i woulda floored him lol i wasnt in the mood to be told bullshit at the time lol ....just like they said it had passed its MOT .. it wouldnt pass with a hole in the zaust now would it?

i know ur only beeing helpful Tom lol all ya advice is sinking in lol, if it was the pump or whtever would i hear any funny noises under hood?
