Anything With Tits or Wheels Will Cost You MONEY!!

I was driving in France when i was 18,19 and 20, with a car and trailer. So am sure you'll be fine. Afterall your driving licence has a little european flag on it! ;)

Yup check with your insurance, and brakedown assistance etc. As our policy included euro driving but i dont think mine does now.

And check your insurance too as you may not be covered. I worked over there for a while and wanted to take the car (didn't actually need it cause I got a Transit :)) but you need a special green card I think if you're over there for 90 days or so, it costs about £300 apparently if memory serves.

Another tip for you. Make sure you have the necessary safety and emergency equipment required by the country you are driving in. When I drove to Italy, I had to pass through France, Germany & Switzerland as well as Italy. All of these countries have requirements regarding warning triangles, first aid kits, fire extinguishers and such like. If you get pulled and are found not to have the stuff required by the law in that country, you'll get an on the spot fine !

Check places like the AA for more info.

In addition to Robs post above, some countries also require you to carry a set of spare bulbs too !!

Also don't forget to get the things to stick on your headlights to change the angle of the beam..

And whilst at it.... they drive on the wrong side of the road too...

i carry a spare headlight bulb? does that count ;)

In regards to insurance, in any standard euro country (EU members) u no longer need a green card but you do need to tell your insurance company as your fully comp here may only cover you for the minimum requirement (normally third party only) in europe. Unless your policy already includes annual foreign use then you would be covered for any trip not exceeding 90 days and for a max of 6 months in any one insurance year.

Also if you drive in Spain there is something about needing to have a spare pair of glasses with the same prescription on you while driving. Obviously if you wear glasses.
