Oh dear.

I met Penny in July 1974 and she was 3 weeks off her 16th birthday. I was 21.

Now, in August 2004 she's 46 and I'm 51. Not such an age gap now is it?

I would agree with that, there is four years between my mam and dad, Dad is 53 and my mam is 49.

I can understand where people are coming from saying 16 is too young, I am not saying i would or would not but i think it depends on each person. I know 21 years old i would not touch, but then again i know some 17 year olds who i get on with really well.

I have found that these types of things are always a bigger deal the younger the people involved are.

From what i have learnt in the past, love is not conditional?

When I was 21 I was going out with a 17 year old and I thought that was fine because she was quite mature, we had a lot in common and she never used to get ID'd in pubs/clubs :D lol that would be embarrasing!

I'm 22 and going out with a 19 year old now so I think a few years age gap is fine but no school girls for me thanks!

A year younger than myself is probably the youngest I'd go. That's cos I'm only 19. I'd feel wrong going out with someone that's still in school. The older you get though the wider the acceptance range goes. Right now I'd like to get with a girl 18-20

Yeah Sie,

Noticed this lately but also keep forgetting that I'm not at school anymore and haven't been for 8 years!

If in doubt ask for validate UK/Passport/Provisional!

I did that once. It wasn't because I was on the pull, it was because there were these lads that were shouting **** at me. I said "shut up you little pricks, You haven't even got ID! Come on, get your ID out" then one punch followed another. This lad that was with the guy hitting me pulled him away and came upto me telling me to stop being an ass. I said "well tell that dick to lighten up" Then got a few punches off the guy that was trying to sort things out. My gf tried to break things up, i bust in and said "don't start hitting girls your little ****" and started laying into the guy. ended up my gf dragging me away and them walking off

....they were actually butch lesbians. Drink is not something I should abuse so regularly

my mate went out with a 15 y.o when he was 19, hes 21 now and shes 18 but it dont feel strange anymore

i went to pick his sister up from school once, shes 15/16 and i got loads off dirty looks

All depends on maturity of individual person I think. At 13/14 I went out with 18/19 yr old then at 15/16 went out with 20 year old. My parents didn't really have a problem with either relationship but I think they knew I was a sensible responsible person. Am now 26 and with 30 yr old and that's fine too. Can't really vote on scale but will to amuse myself. Would go younger defo - how else would they learn ;)

I have to say that this is about the most inteersting thread i have read on here - so many different opinions...

My view is that 15 is too young for anyone over 16. UNder 18 both parties should be around the same age, i.e. 2 years either way. If both parties are over 18 then its all good (I will, in Novmeber, be the 18 year old fella of a 21 year old lady). My 19 year old cousin is goin out with a 15 y/o (was 14), that was a family scandal for a while. hehehe.
