hello,
I installed the cruise control thanks to you but I have a concern it does not work.

But when I press the brake pedal and then but I turned the key in position on , i can turn on and turn off the cruise control lamp lights up and goes off correctly

But when I loose the brake pedal nothing does not work.

I'm sorry if the problem has already evoked was but I'm french so
I admit that I try to read all the pages but I did not understand much : - *

Sounds normal, the CC is supposed to disengage if you hit the brake pedal.

I know it is normal that deactivates when I press the brake but it will work only if I press the brake pedal before turning the key in the on position on and if I stay press the pedal

Have you run a 12v cable to the connector?

Yes i have all work fine when i press brake before put key on position on but today i see with MES i have a error P0703 brake signal but don t know what is it cose i don t have prob with brake light so i mean the swicht brake pedal it s ok

well ive bought and fitted a fiat cc system , , once i had put every thing back on i relised i had no loom to plug it in to... Fail

after doing this on my second stilo 1.9jtd 2002, i have no cruise control. keep getting the p0703 brake switch b circuit.

i reckon i need to take the perm 12v to the BLACK d4 A02? also the A05 on the BROWN d4 was blue not purple on this stilo..

Gutted nits not working, will try ina bit after work.

right quick update.

took the fuse box back out got to the black D4, took it apart at A02 had a green black. pushed it out. striped abit of 0.75 stuck it in-took it round the block and wala it works.

i found the problem with a post i made last year helping someone else. which i should off known!

Just shows everything you need is in this thread! let the lazy driving commence

Re: cruise control

Basically, the situation is is that your Stilo is semi-predisposed. By that, what I mean is that these 4 cables are coming from the Engine Node, and are the feed for the Cruise Control stalk (without the +12V feed). For vehicles with ESP, this would be connected to the opposing brown connector and taken up into the steering column. However, seeing as that isn't the case, you'll need to hardwire it.

You can either chop the connector off (as long as it only has 4 wires going in, there isn't any other useage for it), or wire in-line to keep the original (yet useless) wiring in tact. The connections are as follows:

D4B (Brown Connector) ------> H7 (Cruise Control Stalk)
Pin A02 ------> Pin 1 (Green) RESUME
Pin A03 ------> Pin 6 (Orange/White) SPEED -VE
Pin A04 ------> Pin 5 (Orange/Black) SPEED +VE
Pin A05 ------> Pin 4 (Violet) ON/OFF

This is untrue.
Pin 6 of the H7 connector is SPEED +VE, not -VE (and the color of mine is red) and then pin5 of the H7 connector is SPEED -VE, not +VE (and the color of mine is blue).

Here is a picture from eLearn :

All you need to do then is connect Pin 2 of the Cruise Control Stalk (Blue) to a +12V feed.

That is correct (except the color which is yellow)

Let me know how this goes; am thinking of making up a guide, who knows!

You shall correct that same error that lies on page 6 of your guide.

Hi everybody!
I just have feed wired cable under the bonnet and connected to D4B (A2-A5) and D4A (A2) (I cut off wires from the D4 switches as there were going to nothing and connected directly to that). Feed D4A(A2) one from F35 fuse. Also have feeded On wire from F35 (simulating on button on cruise stack) But cruise is not working at all: any messages on display.
After that I scanned with EcuScan and found P1565 error. It is continuous and are not clears at all, event if there is no any feed on appropriate wire.
What is mean that error and what can I do to get my CC work?

PS: I had Stilo 1.8 16v (133HP) with Hitachi ECU

At last I am a happy owner of a Stilo 1.2 16v with Cruise Control! I wired my ECU with 4 cable and had the brown plug D4b from battery tray to inside steering column H7 plug. I pluged an Alfa Romeo 147 Stick and it's working, from 2nd to 6th gear and above 30Km/h.

I just thought I'd make my input in case someone encounters the same problem.
Today i fitted a 147 stalk to my 03 jtd 115. I had everything in its place ready. Only the stalk was missing
Anyway, after I fitted it, went to try it... nothing
I then started to inspect the brake and clutch switch, since my stilo had the connector by the steering wheel, I supposed that all the wiring was OK. That's why I went strait for the switches, and I was right. The clutch switch was stuck in its housing. I just pulled it out and put some grease on it...
Took for another ride, and to my surprise...it worked very well
So if anyone has any problem on making it work, check the switches too.
Just thought I'd give back something since you guys have helped me a lot on numerous occasions.

Hi i got an Stilo 1.9 JTD 115 bought in 2005 with bi-zone clima, i made succesfully the cruise installation from spanish forum and the they indicate to make the brake connection from fuse box inside car to the black connector under the fuse box in the motor side(that goes to the pin 54 in the ECU connector). I did it on winter so now on sumer the clima is not working, apparently everything is ok, at the Fiat garage told me they dont know why the ECU dont send the signal to the compressor, or dont make ground to the AC relay, because all the rest of components of the clima/AC are ok. Anyone can help me or have idea?? I gonna try to take out the cruise installation and check the clima again but before i want to ask here because y cant join the spanish forum to ask i tried but look like is down. i´m thinking maybe the brake cable that going to the ECU is doing a strange connection, maybe is nit the right connection? someone can pass me the schematics of ecu connector? i have check the Eper and Stilo maintenance manual but dont work well or dont find info. the cruise control works great. Thanks in advance.

Update: i have disconnect the brake cable that i have made and i have check with MES if the ECU still recognize them and yes, i dont need this connection for the cc but the AC still no work. i need the relation of pins of ECU n 54 and 18 to check where i was touching and why at the Fiat the told me the pin 18 is that control the compressor and if i switch it to ground the compressor will run. is possible i have damaged the ECU?? MES recognize CAN, and AC petition but dont send the compressor. any help? idea?

Hello!

How did you fit the 4 wire to ECU? The missing (not connected) pins were present in the stock connector and you had to solder wires to them, or did you have to put pins in too?

The ECU has male pins and the connector has female pins.

The connector has plastik yellow marks at required pins for cruise control.

You remove them and you put a wire at each gap according to manual
