Hey

I been looking around on different sites and bought a ISO cable to Connet a different head unit to my S2 GP

but when conneected it either dont work at all or doesnt work with steering controls

can anyone help please

Hi, audio not my strongest area...

But I know on my HU I had to arrange the ISO differently to make it work, not sure what it is, for the stalk/steering controls does your HU support steering controls? You may need an additional lead/hardware to do this, most HU do not come with this standard.

connect the red wire to the yellow wire. Or run a switched live to the back of the HU. The GP does not have a switched live.

i got my ignition live from my 12v aux feed and ran it to the hu wiring harness and it now turns on and off with my ignition

Thats a good idea, I am going to do that. Where did you pick up the 12v ignition from? Where is it located. What thickness wire did you use. 1mm or 1.5mm? Both should be sufficient.

I think i got the same problem as you , I have recently brought an 06 plate grande punto mjet and i decided to put in my old alpine head unit in, i brought a facia adaptor and stereo keys but when i got the standard head unit out and tried to connect mine up on to the iso block it didn't work nothing happened. i have tested the head unit on another car its fine.
I don't understand why is doesn’t work because when i removed the standard one there was a normal iso block for me to connect to, any help would be appreciated.

now then i took out my gear leaver gator and wen you remove it you should see the wires to your 12v aux plug or as it used to be known "fag lighter" and i spliced into the ignition live wire to that and wired it into the harness at the back of my HU and hey presto your headunit will work when you turn the key on and off

I had the same issue that you had when wiring the HU, cant remember how it was. I could take a picture of the wiring arrangement if you wish, to show you.
