Advice on concealing parcel shelf speakers

Hi all
Thinking of installing some meaty 6 x 9's on my parcel shelf.
can anyone please recommend/advise a way to best conceal them?I've heard theres a mesh type material to cover the whole shelf pr would this make it obvious that I'm trying to hide something..?
Any ideas greatly appreciated.

I cut an extra piece of mdf and placed the 6x9's in that. This mdf was then mounted under the parcel shelf so that the speakers sat flush on the top. (Holes already cut in shelf). I then recovered the shelf in blue suede. It looks as tho it is a standard shelf with no speakers. Here's a pic of underneath
