My wife has been complaining that the headlamps on her car are rubbish for a while now, so I decided to have them checked at a local garage. He is not a Fiat garage but he did the MOT light check for me and they are way out. He tried to adjust them but was not really sure how to and the two white coloured arms that appeared to be adjustable, felt very stiff and not wanting to break them he advised that I contact Fiat.

This I did and they are fully booked until the 3rd Feb so I explained the lighting problem to them and they still couldn't fit me in. I even told them that it would fail an MOT in its present state and this should really have been picked up on the PDI. Still no joy but the reason for posting is not to slag the garage off as I have only had good service from them in the past.DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO ADJUST THE HEADLIGHTS?

I have tried the electronic height adjustment and whilst this helps they are still way out.

Thanks Very Much Dave Palmer

I fully agree with you mate but the garage will not see me until 3rd Feb and the wife is a nurse and works shifts and for safety reasons I really need to sort this sooner rather than later.

I must say I am a little dissapointed with the garage especially as this is a safety issue! I am that concerned that I will pay someone to sort it or attempt it myself. I have been out tonight and the lights are way too low and also throw no light to the off side of the road!

I know its naughty but I have told the wife to drive with the front fogs on until I can get this sorted. And believe me I am the first to slag off drivers who use fogs when there is no need but in this case I feel it prudent to do so.

Cheers Dave Palmer

Ask the dealer to give you a call if someone pulls out of there car looked at ( problerby wont give you a call back BUT stranger things have happened )

I would still book it in for the 3rd or nearest time anyway at least then you will have it looked at.

I will do that thanks mate, good idea, I hadn't thought of that. I have booked it in for the 3rd anyway with some other niggles.

ie. 1. Wind noise from drivers door
2. Badly fitted front seat trim
3. Drivers side inside tyre wear
4. Rear boot struts not strong enough to support its weight
5. Boot rubbing paint off rear bumper
6. Strange clicking noise/feeling through accelerator pedal especially on right turns.
7. Roof lining coming away from its trim in the rear near the boot lid

None of it major and has not stopped my enjoyment of this great car!

I get the clicking on the accelerator pedal as well ..... a previous posts suggests that it is related to the brake pedal .... as it is connected by a rod to the servo ... and this rod is sometimes loose ... hence the click/bang when you go round a corner sharply...
I need to have this looked at by my dealer ... other than that mine is a joy to drive
