Hey all,
I'm doing a bit of research at the minute, looking into designing more struts for the Barchetta, as well as other Fiats, and I want all your help please.
I dont like the design of the current B strut brace, nor the lack of other struts.
So, if other struts were produced for the barchetta, would anyone buy them?
Im looking at:
-new front upper
-front lower
-rear lower
-pan hard rod
and maybe a few others
Thanks

Depends on how difficult they are to mount and if they make a difference. The one I've got at the moment didn't need any soldering/welding or cutting.

I suppose the price would be a point as well.

Does the chassis really flex that much? Just a question I've got no idea!

Sorry all, things are a bit messed up at the minute round here.
Lee hope the back is getting better.
Rear and mid struts will be a big factor as ive only ever found 1 rear and as you know it went in the boot :bang:

Matt, the struts will be designed to work purely for the B and I feel that little to no modifications should be made to the car itself to make the struts fit, bar perhaps trimming a bit of plastic.
The roof of a car holds the car together and when this is removed the chassis will flex more. Although the Barchetta was designed without a roof its still missing a key part of its structure so the more points you can brace together the better i feel.
Its hard to say what the will cost, comes down to the how hard they will be to produce and the number that will be produced

Nicholas, I cant say where exactly each will go, haven't got under the car completely yet, doesn't go down the drive into the garage with the pit anymore:bang:, but front lower will hopefully brace the lower mounts of the suspension as the top will brace the top of the suspension to form a square of strength. However, id like to make a multi point lower to give even more strength.

Cheers

Cheers, good to hear people are interested, this is something i have put a lot of thought into and i am going to put a lot of work and time into.
If i can get this to work, the struts will be of good quality, I wont be pushing stuff I wouldn't have on my car

Thanks Doc, will prob put a poll up at some point to make life easier to see what people are interested in.

Was under the back of the car to-day to have a look, and take a few photos, and I think there will be 2 or 3 rear struts, possible 2 2point struts and 1 4 point

Thanks for the support guys, hopefully get under the front soon to get pics and a good close look.
Ill be asking about colours soon too probably, and im in talks about getting them made once the concepts are finished and ive made a few prototypes

Cheers guys, was thinking of red, blue possibly yellow and maybe polishing up the metal, depending on welds etc.
