Just bought wiechers strut brace for my B, 1999 w/ABS. Tried to install but failed due to it’s hitting intake pipe. Asked manufacturer and send pics, but they said there no B like mine in Germany. Is anyone with same problem? Any solution/comment will be welcomed!!

I know there were some threads speaking of strut brace. I read them and am still confused. The only way I should take is just return it to Wiechers and look for something else to try again??
Anybody please help.

I can only send photos of mine, Looking at mine there is a extra bend to the brace. As the photos show there is plenty of clearance. Also does the air intake on yours look higher.

Don't want to confuse things any more but barchetta's do seem to have two different air pipes at the point of were the strut goes across. The yellow one seems the same as yours sweeping up and the blue the same as mine more horizontal.

To me it looks like the whole induction system is different (intake manifold, throttle body and piping)

Thank you all for your advises!
Yes, mine looks like later model but my B is 1999..don’t know why.
In Japan it was called “limited edition” which has leather seats. Maybe that’s why.
Again thank you for your help!!

The later engine with all the different induction components is a CF3 version. CF3 engines were only fitted to the European models in the MkII "B"s

I think the clue here might be that the emmisions regs in Japan have (to my knowledge) always been tighter and ahead of those in Europe.

There was a similar issue in Europe in the 80s with Switzerland. Their regs were tighter than the current EU ones so they got the Strada/Ritmo Abarth 125TC which did not have the same induction system and carbs as the 130TC.

Still don't understand why your strut brace manufacturer said there were no CF3 / MkII "B"s in Germany

Understood. Mine has Mk-II.
I just send the brace back to seller and start talking with other manufacturer. I’ll update it’s status for everyone who has Mk-II. Again, thank you for your help!!

Hiya, I believe the wiechers strut brace are for non abs models but If you buy a sparco strut brace , its a better fit and will fit both or all models.

They said it will fit to ABS model but did not fit to my B due to the intake pipe. I’m looking for Sparco but did not find any yet.

Found this one. Anyone has any info?
