Hi All,

I let my son clean out my marea weekend to earn some pocket money on the weekend, whilst we were doing the weekly shop in Tesco's!! however when I went to drive the car the accelerator peddle was stuck to the floor as if the cable had come off!....when I asked him what had happened he said he was pretending to drive when he got his foot caught under the pedal so he pulled it up and thats when the pedal dropped, I managed to tie a peice of string to the throttle linkage under the bonnet and drive home by pulling on the string through the window! great fun by the way! lol, now the novelty has worn off and after getting a dodgy look from a traffic cop (luckily going the other way on a dual carriage way!! hehe Ive decided to try and fix it! so...any ideas if the cable has broken or just slipped off? and how the hell do I fix or get it back on?? is there a link to a diagram that anyone knows of??

Would really appreciate your help and advice on this!

Cheers Guy's/Girls

Chris

Get you head as far under the dash near the pedals you'll see that the cable hooks onto the top of the pedal..... i did the same as your young lad just sat at some lights big panic but its not that hard the hardest part is getting into position under the dash use a torch aswell....

Hope that helps.....

Thanks Karl,

I dont know if they are all the same but my pedal seems to connect onto a long bar that travels under the dash as far over as the center console??

Chris

thats right, the accelerator extension arm. the cable fits on the end of that

Cheers!

Oh well...here go's!

Hopefully I wont have to strip out too much of the dashboard/console!!

Thanks again guys!

Chris

P.S....sounds like its just come off rather than broken! thats something I guess! lol

That does ring a bell, i really had to squeez under the drivers side to see what i was doing.... it will just pop back on the hook thing... im no mech but i cant see the pedals being designed different throughout the bravo\a marea range....apart from maybe the 20v

The cable end will be there somewhere "plastic hook type thing" lift the pedal back up into postion and you should be able to pop it back on.

Cheers

Karl
