Hi Guys,
My 98' HGT had the ABS warning light on & I get it checked at the authorized Fiat service in Ankara/Turkey.
As the "Examiner" says; my ABS Brake Pump is not working !
Well this means 900 EUR simply...
They told me that the chipset (Controlled by the ABS) on the Brake pump is fried. Unfortunately this chipset is not sold seperately & I do have to buy it as a set !
900 EUR ! What the fu..k ?
The brake system works properly without the ABS of course...
I believe the examiner and the service guys cause most of them are my friends but anyone heard something like that ? I don't want to buy a spare from another crashed car cause it will be 400 EUR minimum !
Anyone heard something like that? Can it be a wrong diagnostic ? Or what else can it be ?
Also they advised NOT TO WASH the engine in order to prevent these electronic systems... This sounded nonsense cause there must be a protection/seal for this kind of equipment !
