I have this ABS intermittent problem. Sometimes the ABS warning light is on and later will off. The cycle goes on until today. I have changed to a new battery but the problem still there. Could it be that I need to change the positive baterry terminal or a new earthing cable. Please advise.

Dear Syed,

Apparently there were a few Bravo/Brava models with this faulty ABS system and they were supposed to be recalled and the problem to be rectified. My car also falls in the same group but I have not had the problem yet. I think Torino kept quiet about it. It's probably time to report to Fiat Auto.

I'll send you the attachment. Good Luck.

I know its not a Fiat, but my wife's Camry had a probablem when the battery got older, it would flash the ABS light... I changed the battery and cleaned all the connections and haven't had a single problem... 1998 Camry V6 with 132,000 miles!!! I Don't know if this will help or not...

This ain't Skydiving, you get a second try!!

Thanks guys, but to change the battery terminal (as recomended by workshops) need a lot of patient as no cable slack.

It happens on the Marea also. I've been told that its just a matter of reseting the elctrics - however that's supposed to be done. I'm not a hugely technical person.

sound to me if you have a faulty sensor?
try wiggling the wires from sensors when light is off and see if it comes on.
or test the resistance on the sensors

My workshop already cleaned the sensors and check the wiring. But the problem still presists. Lately, more owners are facing this problem. What is the best way to check the ABS system. Can someone in Italy go to Fiat directly and verify this.

What were the findings when checked by the Examiner?
