What can cause this fault with no code showing ?

What "machine" are you using to try and read the code...?

Most (inexpensive) handheld machines will only read engine faults, I'm afraid. You will need a copy of (something like) multiecuscan (MES) with the appropriate (ELM/KKL/VAG, etc.) USB-to-OBD cable for your car; plus the ABS adapter lead (red, I think -- but I haven't had my first coffee of the day, yet... -- but it's worth buying the full set of three adapter leads, anyway...) to read and reset ABS codes. (y)

I shall ask a moderator to move this to the GP section -- you'll probably get more appropriate responses, that way.

BTW: if none of this makes sense, feel free to ask... -- there are no stupid questions -- but I, personally, am capable of giving the odd stupid answer.... ;)

MES , is the best relatively cheap option for code reading / daignosis , and clearing
think it's the GREEN lead for ABS, Yellow for PAS-a scan of EBAY will soon let you know

RED is Airbag,

before spending ANY money though check the FAQ's + stuff in the GP section , as quite a few of these things are down to fusebox / earth issues,
