Technical ABS failure message

Has anyone else had the ABS failure message appear in the multi-function display unit? Mine only does it in cold/damp weather i.e. in the winter. It's fine all summer. It's been back to the dealer four times for the same problem but they haven't yet managed to solve it. It's driving me mad and I want to get it sorted before the warranty expires.

No fault codes appear when it's plugged into diagnostics and they've elminated damp in the connections. The ABS itself is working fine and it's only the message that appears in the multi-function display unit, NOT the ABS warning light. What else could it be? Any suggestions?

mine does exactly the same thing and has done since new and there's at least one other Doblo on the forum with the same problem.
It only does it in very damp conditions or very cold weather like yours.
I've been to the dealer and had it checked but, like you, they found no faults.
I've also had 'engine failure' warnings come up twice and occasionally the immobiliser will lock out and I have to turn off the ignition and start again.

'T' told me that if the computer doesn't find the fault again after 3 re-starts it will re-set the fault so it won't show on a check at the dealer.

I think it's just something you have to put up with. Fiat electrics aren't the best in the world and unless it's happening every day, I wouldn't worry about it .

i had the same problem last year (06) and now again this year, all on very cold mornings, i did put it into the dealers early this year and they powered it down for an hour or so and its was fine for about 10 months, but first very cold day about three weeks ago and it reappeared, all i do now is restart the engine and it resets itself, strange thing is my last car was a laguna and that did the same thing, began to think it was me.

I agree, I think it's something I'm going to have to live with, although it's going back to the dealer this Friday. The only thing that bothers me though is what happens when I come to sell it? Can I only get rid of it in the summer when I know it won't happen? It's hardly likely to endear it to a potential buyer if the ABS failure message appears is it? I was warned prior to purchase that FIAT stands for 'Fix It Again Tomorrow'!!!!!!!!
