hi all , I have a 2014 3ltr Ducato camper that i bought from auction, it had had a fire under bonnet in the wiper motor area, some of the loom in that area had melted and the main earth in the loom had melted all the way along the loom even though the fire hadn’t reached that far , loom has been repaired and all tested for continuity, but wipers didn’t work? No connection to abs? Dpf blocked , fault with pedal control? and several other faults , so I replaced the BCM , the wipers now all work but all the other faults are still there, vehicle has only done 15000 miles and was all running fine before fire , any advice appreciated, cheers, steady

Hi
Pedal & brakes - issue of could cause faults for both these
DPF blocked - are you reading this from MES
On you model the Differential Pressure Sensor is not far back from the firewall so it may have been damaged in the fire.
I see earlier post that the battery was still connected at the time of fire. This alone could cause issues.
It would be good to use MES & do actuator tests and work though each one.

I’m not good with electronics, what’s mes,

Sorry its Multiecuscan (MES is shortened) which is a program that we all use to get fault codes through the OBD2 port at the cabin fuse box.
With this program you can get all the fault codes and what they are for.
You can also activate the ABS module to see if it is working properly.
You can do an activation of all the different modules in the vehicle.
There are many other things you can do as well.
I hope this helps.

Great thanks , I’ll keep you updated

The guy I had doing it says it was mes , but he thinks the abs module has had it , he says he’s cloned the body control module and the van runs but is in lymp mode he says this is because it won’t connect with the abs , what do you think?

You said you have a new (clone) BCM.
To do this you or someone else would have to have access to the original BCM

Access the BCM (Body Control) gives you access to all the modules & sensors that function around the body which includes brakes, stereo, wipers, air conditioning etc.
ECU (engine control) gives you access to engine modules & sensors as in injectors, cam, crank, turbo etc
When you access engine using MES you can do a scan of these that will show up any faults stored or present. This is the first step.
The vehicle uses a CAN system which requires another level of testing.

There is a lot of information on this forum. You just need to get some information from MES then do a search of it & I am sure you will be able to work through it & get results you are after.
