Never assume

Pierburg is an oem supplier to major German brands .

You would be better served by obtaining the correct pierburg part and fitting it using the correct adapter cable.
That may be sp but let's see if this lasts longer than the peirberg that was a replacement at some stage in its life..
I did indeed need to use the adaptor cable that was on there but I didn't feel like taking a chance until I checked wiring diagrams
Thanks for all the inputs

Hi,

The updated pierburg part and adapter cable was Fiats fix to dodgy first design

Ah I think I have worked out what you have done...

QH throttle body plus the fiat adapter cable that fiat supplied sometime ago with the upgraded pierburg throttle body.

Let us know if that's not correct.

I'm glad you have it all sorted and can enjoy a drive again.

Yes that's it exactly , even though the pierburg shows no sign of significant corrosion on the outside , I will take it apart to check the circuit ( nosie as I am )

All sorted now thanks .its the corrosion problem again , the replacement pierburg throttle seems to have internal corrosion in it (I will check later )
So in summary there were 2 faulty items
1 . The EGR
2. The THROTTLE BODY .
reading some info on the aftersales blurb
The butterfly is held open by the egr circuit for 60 seconds then control goes via ecu to hold it open
On mine as the throttle body rheostat was not talking it just shut off .
Thanks all

the op refers to replacement pierburg throttle, he means the throttle his van came to him with pierburg throttle.
he does not mean the new replacement throttle he bought was pierburg and it was faulty from new.
The op fitted a replacement new part brand QH
