Have you heard about the new Saab 93 1.9 TiD?...

Well.........in reality the 1.9 TiD is the Fiat 1.9 Multijet 150 bhp...

;)

Well if this is true, i.e. it's the first diesel to drive like a saab - new scientist advert, how come Fiat don't make cars in such a league?

This is true!

It is, I checked :) Never believe everything you read though, not unless it can be backed up.

So how come the Saab has the engine before any of the UK stilos have it? Are lots of Stilos in europe 150BHP?

i don't think the stilo has it here ether yet. only alfas.

anyways why don't you check Opel/vauxall's 1.9 140hp diesel engine? guess where that comes from :)

Maybe Fiat should stop selling all their MJTDs and use them?!

That's why the Stilo JTD doesn't compete with most marque's other TDIs (as good as they are) because Fiat prefer to keep GM and Saab happy it seems...

Haven't we forgotten someone here??

ALFA ROMEO MAYBE???? 1.9 JTD MULTIJET 150BHP AND 2.4 MULITJET 175BHP AND 1.9 JTD 115BHP AND 1.9JTD MULTIJET 100BHP (SOON IN THE NEW ALFA147)

I think the reason for the slowness in selling Stilo Multijet 140bhp versions is that they probably get more dosh selling the engine outright to GM..
Considering Fiats bank balance (AT THE MOMEMT I HASTEN TO ADD) they need all the dosh they can get even if it means temporarily sacrificing some sales of Stilo's..

I reckon the Stilo Multijet is coming out November / December time.

ALFA AND FIAT WILL BE BACK WITH A STORM...

ALFA CERTAINLY ARE STARTING TO CRACK AT THE GERMAN BARICADE..

ALFA 157 ; GTV ; SPIDER ; 8 C COMPETIZIONE ; ALFA 147
The Germans have no chance with that weoponary above..

Fiat will come back with a vengeance when the new Punto is released ; the new Croma and finally the last nail in VW ; FORD ; VAUXHALLS ; SEATS wood is the
FIAT NUOVA 500 !!!
Thats going to sell like hot cakes!

Plus when a new Coupe arrives Fiat will be back on form for sure..

Ah, you also forgot that there are rumours that there will not only be a new Lancia Delta, but other sporty cars with the Lancia badge, well the company is officially know as FIAT/Lancia as you would notice from any OE parts bought! Alfa is owned by FIAT like Ferrari but is not the same company so to speak, ie diff. board of directors. So the future looks good :)

But this is silly, look at any marque and you will see they have stuff like this and always have done, it's called planning! lol

I was a bit unsure whether GM owned Saab....oh well, my comment still makes sense.

I actually like some of the saabs although no way the best choice in that sector IMO.

Whoa there,

Ever heard of the Saab 9000 launched in 1984 :D

It was part of the 'gang of four', the other 3 being the;

Fiat Croma
Lancia Thema
Alfa 164

Croma, Thema, & 9000 all shared the same floorpan, doors, engine bay & inner wings and were designed by Giorgetto Giugaro (spelling)

The 164 only used the floorpan and was designed by (correct me if I'm wrong) Pininfarina.

What goes around, comes around. :)

I actually quiet like Saabs, at least I did until GM bought the company. If this is what it takes for GM to continue putting money into Fiat to keep it afloat then so be it. I still don't like it though. And whoever mentioned the Saab 900/Croma/164/Thema is spot on. All 4 cars were developed together and shared the same floorpan.
