Assuming it is similar to normal 20v with aircon, you can replace the alternator by unbolting the right side enginemount, lowering the engine, twisting it around (took me 5 mins the first time guiding it out as it only comes out in specific angle) to the right and then jacking the engine back up to get the alternator out.

I also rebuilt mine instead of buying new (failed rectifier+bearings+slipring+vreg).

No completely different, the altenator on the 2.4 sits on the back, directly underneath the diesel pump, and runs off the same belt. If it was the same as the 20v or coupe turbo, I'd have done it myself, as I've done many of times.

This new one comes with warranty, and should certainly last as long as I'll own the car :)

those pics are lovely, what a nice car! i wish mine looked good enough to be able to take photos so close up :p
is it the camera skewing the reality or are those tyres a little "balloony" the side walls look very rounded to me, is that normal?
the tints were orginally against my liking, i did them due to having a baby in the back, i didn't want 1) the sun in his face, tanning him on one side. 2) the car getting up to oven temperatures during summer. since i've done tham i actually like them now, and don't consider it too "tuning/boy racer" since there are very good practical reasons to have them, plus my beat up old estate can hardly be considered a tuning car. ;)
i made a fair few mistakes, the biggest was, i tried doing it myself, and up to now, after 3 attempts, i've still not mastered the technique, however i have spent more trying, in wasted film, than i would have paid if i had just gone to a professional in the first place. And it still looks sh*t, and i have still not managed to do the boot window due to every attempt in heat shrinking the plastic going wrong.
but i don't care too much about the asthetic, it stops 99% of UV light and 75% infra red, getting to me kids, so that'll do.

Hey guys, thankyou for the replys, not been on here in ages!

Ok before I put it up officially for sale, thought I'd give you lot first heads up, as I'd rather it went to a fellow enthusiast. I'll be selling the car in the next few weeks to make room for my new car, I fancie a change, got a bit of money sitting, and for once thinking of something newer, most likely a 159sw etc..

I've done nothing else with the car, just driven and enjoyed it, it's been an absolute machine, starts first click, whatever the weather, pulls like a freight train and takes me anywhere I want to go, and like most cars I lve sold, I'll probably regret it.

But been fancying something new, well " newer" than the usual 2000 fiats I go for, for a while now. And won't fit 3 cars on the drive!

Im not looking for serious money, just a fair offer, reading this thread you'll all know what I've spent and that the car wants for nothing. Anybody interested can get me on 07803435487, text or call is fine.

Ps mot is next October.

Hope you all had a good xmas!
