Has anyone any advice of a make or model of a new radio or bought one for a B (I have a dash adaptor) with a green display? I hastily bought a cheapish Blaupunkt to fill the empty slot and the blue display irritates me. Plus I thought I'd prefer a aux in on the front for a Ipod/Mp3, maybe Bluetooth too for phone calls. All ideas gratefully received.

Becker are top but cost a lot, also don't look that great (but I guess you are paying for the sound and not the look)..........

I have an Alpine head unit in mine, good sound and a green display and buttons - I will jot down the model number tomorrow (if I remember!!

i have just bought a new stereo for mine and have the same ALPINE as LRB, i will be putting it on ebay quite soon but these units do not have an ipod input on the front and not sure if you can hook one up to it.

The good thing is that they light up green and match the B's interior nicely, i think you can get one for around £90 with Ipod connection....

i think the Becker with its understated lines and its rounded front suits the rounded flowing lines of the B much better than any other with the bling-bling lights and square buttons and sliders

its esthetics i gues

de coloribus et gustibus non dispatum est ;)

wow that becker is realy nice, its navigation too, soo maybe not that expensive ?
I just put a Pioneer BT65 in ours, see the subwoofer thread for pics. You can change the color off the display and the color for the buttons seperately to your own style. Radio is silver color though. The previous model is about the same spec but has a black facia, that will be the BT55. BT means bluetooth phone and audio streaming for the BT65. Have not tried the quality off the phone connection yet, but I tried it while standing still, and it works.
Good luck, greetz Mark.

This is mine, I must admit its a few years old but does pump out a clear, decent sound - I will probably replace it with a newer version with iPod compatibility and bluetooth once I find the elusive 'disposable income'!

I have a Pioneer DEH 2920 head unit. Pretty basic functions (plays MP3 and WMA) but no front aux / usb / or bluetooth support. BUT the reason why I chose this is its "modest" design with green illuminated buttons and displays which suits the b perfectly.
I find the nicer units (with a TFT display, dvd, gsp etc) waaaaaaaay too overpriced...

Hi
Why not try changing your instrument bulbs to blue leds, much cheaper and a more modern look. I see you can buy kits on ebay, or cheaper to just try your local maplin store or somewhere similar when you have your old bulbs out.

:yeahthat:

Relatively easy mod. I tried blue dash bulbs and they were crap when changing the dash on my 4x4 panda. The Led's however were much much better....
