Hello all,
please could someone tell me where to find the engine code on my 899? I can find a couple of numbers on the block, one behind the starter and another behind the alternator but they are fairly obscured. Could it be either of those?
Cheers,
Ian.

Because I bought a front pipe off ebay and it is the wrong one. When I look back at the auction it says to fit engine code 1170 A1.046. I didn't know there were different engines for the 899, maybe there aren't!

The one that came is in the pic.
I think they're going to sort it out , I just wanted to be certain I was correct in case they don't.
Cheers,
Ian.

Haven't had chance to do any more today but I'll have a proper look in the morning. I think they just sent the wrong one by accident. I took it to the garage who were doing my rear bushes and he said it was different to the one that's on. That list you linked to has the same Code number for most of the cars that was listed for the auction, by the way, and the engine code for an 899 Sei on the same site is also the same.

The new polybushes have transformed the car! It's like sitting in a limo now it's so quiet. I guess they were even worse than I thought.

Cheers,
Ian.

899 Cinq front pipe has a Cat in it...

As said above, that looks like an 1108 Sei pipe.
899 Sei pipe will be a lot shorter than the one you have.

Morning chaps, thanks for your replies. Yes I think it is probably a 1.1 too. The seller is being really good about it and have said they'll send another one out today. I'll keep you updated.
Ian.

Just a quick follow up. A replacement exhaust arrived the following day and although I haven't had the chance to have it fit yet it appears to be the correct one. I've added a pic to show the difference. I'm still thinking the first one is probably for a 1.1l.
Ebay seller was automotivepartsspecialist in Bradford and I have to say the dealt with this very efficiently. Price was cheap too at £19.25 inc del.

Cheers,
Ian.
