Thats right, in the time it took you just to read the heading, Mr David Beckham would have earned 80 pence. Thats 80 p every second of every hour of every day for the next five years. Seems like they have a ruling in usa soccer that all players have a capped wage EXCEPT you are allowed to have one player on each team that you can whatever amount you like to. Seems mr beckham will be earning more than every player on every team put together.

Good luck to him. Like here in NZ, football isn't a major sport. They're really into that low skill level sport, rugby. And yes, most of the Kiwi's agree with my sentiments.
The only football being played is by the abysmal NZ Knights, who're the equivilent to non league, and sunday league teams.
If he manages to promote the beautiful game to the colonials, good luck to him.
As for his salery; he'll be worth every cent. And that's from a Wolves fan!
