8 Pin Din Socket - Help

I've made the mistake of not disconnecting my cd changer cable from my GRUNDIG MCD 46 before lowering the back seat!!! Dull I know!!!! the wiring has pulled out of the din socket and I dont which wires should be connecting to which pin??? Can anyone help with a diagram or description of which colour wire goes with which pin??? so i can solder them back in myself or get a new din socket??

Right, Neil

I hope you are ace with a soldering iron! I stripped the end of a cable to have a look, so looking from the OUTside (the part you could see before you f@$ked it), count the pin at 7 0`clock as no.1,go clockwise to no.7 and no.8 is the centre pin.OK?

No.1 RED
No.2 YELLOW
No.3 BLACK
No.4 BLUE
No.5 The shield around the BLACK wire
No.6 GREEN
No.7 WHITE
No.8 The shield from the RED wire
The bare wire goes to the metal case of the plug

If this isn`t clear, post back to me and I`ll try to help

Not all the colours are the same on every cable, it depends who made it - I know - I spent weeks sussing that out!

8 Pin Din wiring - Need Pete's help

Pete back last month you gave me some info on how to wire the din socket back up from where I accidently ripped it out your instructions were good until I came across the the white wire - mine has a shield wire around it but you don't mention where that goes and not being an expert I dont want to take any risks!! can you or anyone else help me out here even with an old bit of cable with the din socket connected I could connect up with block connectors?? I'm getting desperate now without my cd changer!!!!

I got my cable from my local scrappy for a fiver. He has another 7 Bravo/a`s in. I don`t need mine at the moment, so e-mail me at [email protected] and we`ll sort something out. That`s if you want it?
