78 Fiat Spider

Hello, My son and I just picked up a 78 Spider as a project car. Runs OK but needs work. Going to be a great car to play with and teach him how to do stuff. Joined to learn more about the car and gather knowledge. Once we learn a little bit, we can they help others. We are in Tempe AZ.

I went and registered/filled out the form on the WW registry. The car came with a ton of extra parts; block, transmission, valves, carbs, cables, gaskets, hood, brake lights, windows, instruments, hardtop, etc., etc. It runs OK but we need to sort/check all the systems and get it safer to drive. We would really like to replace the dashboard as one of our first beautification steps but not finding any options other than a shell to go over the existing one. We are looking forward to getting started on it!
