Hello from a newbie
i have a 2017 Sider 124 with 32000 miles. Drove down to Cornwall last weekend and the clutch burnt out. To cut a long story short, after 5 1/2 hour wait in a lay by on bodkin moor my car was carried away on a low loader. after the bank holiday I contacted the garage that had my car and asked them to quote for a replacement clutch and flywheel. They said they could not get the part. Phoned my garage in Surrey and they said the same. As did the Fiat dealership. So two question:
how can it you can’t get a clutch for a 6 year old car ? I should add there is no date for either the expensive Fiat one or the aftermarket version.
any suggestions?
I caught the train back to Surrey and have left the car in Cornwall. the most expensive journey I think I have ever made!

I’d get on the phone to the various car parts companies.

Eurocarparts, GSF, Partsworld-UK.
The latter in particular deals clearance of old stock parts.

Failing that there is eBay

There is also a company called Charles Trent limited in Kent who are specialists in selling genuine high quality parts recovered from salvage vehicles.

Obviously the salvage route is not ideal but it may be the only option to get the car back on the road

The outcome was that a helpful company called Hack Engineering imported a Clutchmaster performance clutch from the states, which was cheaper than the Fiat one and I’m back on the road. Lost faith in Fiat UK entirely. far easier and cheaper to get a clutch for an original spider classic that mine. Some blamed brexit, but some just said they had similar issues with Fiat. But none of the parts suppliers I or the garages tried had either a Fiat or aftermarket part. Just got to get used to the chatter of an aluminum flywheel now.
