Hi, apologies if this is a really stupid question but...
I have my 6x9s and sorted the parcel shelf, but how best to wire them without cutting the existing wires? I'd prefer to leave it so that I could reconnect the original speakers if possible. It's on an 03 Punto.

Cheers,
Colin

You cant really, but your best bet is to cut if off the rear speakers and use some Spade connectors, Leave spades on the Existing connections and then use the same spades on the existing speaker wire, and 6x9 wire. that how ive done it. Still nice and neat

Sounds like a decent solution, will give it a shot.
Thanks.

Failing that, If I am correct the Original block which is plugged into your original speakers, you *should* be able to fit a female spade connecter into that, CHECK THIS FIRST, if it does you wont need to cut the block.

As attach one female spade onto 6x9 wire and into the existing block.

Hope this helps

The current connection has female spades in a block that plug into males mounted at the base of the speaker in another block.

I would have to have a male on the end of the 6x9 wire to go into the block, I've had a look but can't find anything the right size. I think I'll be safer cutting the wire and fitting spades to guarantee a decent connection.

I'll give it another look over before I cut anything just in case this will work though. Ta for the help.

Yeah wasn't certain it would work, would be no hassle to put the female connecter directly into the old speakers if you come to sell it.
