I don't aim to have my car very much longer say 'till the end of the year probably.

I want a bit more Bass in my car, however, I ain't a fan of massive thumping :p I just want to have a bit more deeper 'drone' from my Bass instead of at the moment a more 'tinny' sound.

Do you recommend installing some 6x9's or a Sub for the sound I want?

At the moment my rear speakers struggle with any heavy Bass sounds. Could even buying better 10cm speakers for the rear improve the Bass sound? If so what sort do you recommend?

Generally I don't wanna waste time and money doing a top class ICE install all I really want is the standard set up (with small changes if needed) but to have a bit more punch and feel to my sounds?

Help appriciated and thaked in advance.

6x9s would introduce more bass into your system although a sub would be better at doing this. But as you said, if you dont want to spend too much get some 6x9s. my QB69s (Vibe) punch hard as some subs, but they werent cheap. The cheaper you go the worse they get, so in general you get what you pay for!

Also if you are going to run off the headunit, then dont expect too much from them. For best results they need to be amped up.

10cm components wont improve bass that much as the cones are still quite small.

I'll try 6x9's just of the headunit. As I said I don't plan to have the car very much longer so I don't wanna spend to much on it not to get the use.

I have a set of JBL GTO936a 6x9's dunno if there a good set or not? Paid £30 but they were reduced from £69:99 in sale?

Hopefully un-amped they will improve enough to keep me happy. All I want is a more deeper sound without distortion on some songs when there's a lot of Bass present.

I don't want my car shaking and thumping so maybe a full amp/sub set up is to much??

I can't believe I'm about to say this.............

In your situation, I would use the JBL 6x9s. JBL gear is good (I know cos I've got a JBL sub). If you were keeping your car indefinately, I would say get a sub/amp package. That said though, you could install a sub and amp and take them out when you sell and out the whole set up into your new car......it can be done easily - all my wiring used in be in a Seat Ibiza, and the amp used to be in the same car.

Yeah thanks for the idea but I can't be bothered with all the hassle of getting an amp and sub wired up. If the 6x9's are gonna do the job enough then I'd be happy just cutting the wires of the existing rear speakers and wiring in the new 6x9's.

I'd rather spend 5 mins than 5 hours now on it as I ain't gonna get any long term benefit outta anything else.
