Hi Guys,
I Have a 1996 2.5td Ducato Maxi. It has done 145000km. Last week 5th Gear suddenly would no longer stay engaged. So I replaced the two gears and the synchromesh assembly. New gear oil. Thing is it still refuses to stay in gear. Is it possible that the selector rod has a ball bearing locator dimple? Does the cable need to be adjusted? Is it possible that the Syncro/Assy is faulty? (It is an after market one).
Any advice would be welcome.
When you really look at these gears they have very little in the way of hold on the gear wheel it-self.
Many thanks in advance
