Hi All, recently 5th gear started to slip out.. I've changed gear oil and put 2.7lt in as other threads advised.
Still hard to get in 5th and I can see the gear leaver pushing backwards, usually get to 50mph before engaging, will stay in 5th at 60mph but I've got long journey on Wed and afraid it might go all together..
Any ideas on a fix ?..

What gearchange arrangement on this vehicle?

You'd try to have a look at the counter weight section, I've watched a video where someone was moving the gear stick in the car and the other person was spraying rubber friendly silicone around the area to losen the parts up. Over time the dirty and grime made the shifting difficult, not sure that'd help you but worth a try.
Also check if there's no cable or any parts in the way of the counter weight, had happened to me...an earth cable somehow got in the way of the counter weight and occasionally pushed it back, which wasn't fun. It ate through the top layer.of the earth cable, but fortunately I'd found the issue before causing engine damage or even fire.

The car is reaching 25, so you'd have a mechanic have a proper look at literally everything, MOT checks a lot of things, but they don't look inside the engine.

In my family has a car with the same year, it works good and that, clutch is starting to go though, but I would only use it near the area, not for long distances.
Try to fix it, but if the travel is very important, consider public transport or renting a car.
