Technical 55s Handbrake

A quick question is there a knack to fitting the handbrake cable to the rear shoes as i am finding this near impossible. I ha vent got three hands to pull the outer back and clip the nipple into the notch on the shoe any advice would be welcome.

i use long nose pliers to hold spring back

Thanks i have tried that but it must be me, well it was cold and wet when i was trying maybe again tomorrow.

I found it best to fit the cable at the wheel end first, so there's plenty of slack, then attach it at the handbrake end.
