Hello,

This is my first post so go easy.

We have had our Fiat 500x 1.6 JTD for around 6 months and everything has been fine. Recently however there has been a noise develop which wasn’t there previously. The only way to describe it is when accelerating it sounds as though the heater blowers come on and make a whirring/spinning sound before disappearing over 2.5k revs. It has been into the dealer who can’t find anything wrong/haven’t looked hard enough and said that its normal. How can it be normal if it wasn’t there before?

Has anyone else had this problem or had their 500x make this noise. It’s massively annoying hence the reason I would like it sorting.

Thanks in advance
Glenn

No it's not the turbo. The noise seems to be coming from the centre of the dash.

Yeah but it still makes the noise when it's turned off. very strange.

I'm no expert on these cars (in fact, I don't even own one... yet!) but I experienced a similar thing on one of my cars which turned out to be a loose exhaust manifold heatshield which at certain revs (and thus vibration) was making a rattling noise that sounded like air whooshing through the air vents.
