Hi,

My friend has just purchased a 60 plate 500C and we noticed the other day that there is a thin line in the middle of the windscreen going up behind the rear view mirror, then going across the top of the screen on the drivers side and back down along the A pillar. (Rectangular in shape) The line looks very similar to a heating element found in the rear window but thinner.

Any idea what it maybe for? If it is for heating, how do you turn it on?

It's the ariel yes, but why did they do it down the middle of the screen? Why not conceal it in the A pillar, or at least do it around the perimeter of the passenger side screen. Then again, Fiat like to annoy people with silly design flaws, look at the washer jets for example! :p

The side they've done it on is the passenger side, in Italy! :p

You know what theyre like - i read about someone trying to find the fuel cut-off switch on an Alfa, which the manual stated 'is in the drivers footwell'. It was in the drivers footwell, if you hapenned to have a LHD car

The Porsche 911 has a similar arrangement. I guess others do too....
