All,
Got the car home last night on blocks and all wheels off ready to start the work on my newly acquired 500 ( daughters )
First set of questions:-
Should it have a splash guard to cover the engine underneath - no sign of anything at all ? is it lost or was it ever there ?
Brakes are dismantled and new discs and pads to fit - but is the top "pivot" bolt supposed to come out so you can separate the caliper from the carrier. It appears to be a 8mm hex but i have eased off trying to remove it just in case its a complete unit ? THe things in there under some torque so began tho think for some bizarre reason Fiat have designed it not to be split - surely not !!
Rear brakes are turning free but drum will not slip over - easing tool to be used tonight
Waxoyl warming up in house for a good blather underneath
Nothing else to mention thus far but any help with the above would be appreciated
As expected though :-
Sump is rusty - as expected - so need to treat that
Needs some TLC on bodywork - no issues
Alloys area bit poor paint wise - will respray in spring
Broken center cap needs a new/used one
Good wet vac inside
Cheers all - thanks again for all advice received so far
