Technical 3D display on Connect Nav+ 9.8?

Firmware 9.8 for Connect Nav+ has a "3D" option under the map display menu. Does anyone know how to get the maps in 3D? I have the UK 2006/7 disc and can only get 2D.

Is it something that would only work for the new 2007/8 disc?

Hello, what Marelli calls "3D" is only 2D really, the only difference is the way woods etc. are shown (kind of trees picture displays instead of a green surface....)
So no real 3D display available...
