Both seem to be a case of more horsepower than brain cells. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing and it seems the only "knowledge" some people think they need is a fat wallet. There seems to be a growing level of hype surrounding cars in general that they are un-crashable. This is all just more grist to the anti-speed mill.
