Is this a torque converter auto gearbox?

Just curious as to why the US market doesn't get the Dualogic or those other robotised single-clutch gearboxes. Did FIAT's market research determine that US customers don't like the "feel" of these transmissions?

Oh dear. Always a great way of ruining a great car, give it Golf cart controls, nothing says "I've given up on life" more than driving an auto.

Don't want an auto, then don't get one.

Unfortunately for some it's a way of life due to uncontrolable health reasons. Thanks for saying that anyone with a health condition driving and auto has given up on life!

Equally I think everyone who drives a manual is stupid and has no common sense - why muck about changing gear when a machine can for you.......

Yes, Yes and Yes :D The US gets a conventional Aisin transmission.

That's because most of them are rubbish! Basically all new autos should simply be dual clutch, robotised single clutch is old tech.

Persumeably the same "health condition" that allows you to take an opinion out of context, add your own spin, then convince yourself someone else has said somthing they never said no doubt.

Auto's are acceptable in some cases, I have a fair few homosexual friends, they all seem to like auto's, I also see a lot of old people drive autos too, and obviously there are certain health conditions that make driving an auto acceptable too. Hope this clarifies for you.

So it's acceptable for a gay person to drive an auto? Phew! Glad we cleared that up Percy!

You're going to last well here with your homophobic attitude, we're in 2014 not the <1960's :tosser:

Stop trying to find offense in an inoffensive comment. Making a link between my gay friends and them driving an automatic is a coincidence, not sure how that can be perceived as homophobic?

They should have at least put a dual clutch in it.

Yeah I'm still puzzled as to why all the European Abarths (even the high-end ones) only offer a single-clutch auto. They should be able to transplant one of the Alfa dual-clutch gearboxes, no?

Why mention it when it's totally irrelevant other than to either offend or get a response?

Offend who exactly? I actually feel offended myself now, as someone who has worked in Theature for almost 24 years, and has built up a huge circle of friends from all walks of life, perhaps you should tell them im homophobic, you'll see im quite the opposite.

An appology would perhaps be appropriate, and I myself am sorry if I caused any offense to anyone, im still learning how sensitive people are on this forum, very it would appear. Shall we move on now,

I am rather turned on by the interior of the new abarth and welcome the full auto box... obviously with open arms, when are we getting this in the UK ?

btw: do I need to tell my religion, cast, sexual preferences and if I have given up on life to buy this :)

Why mention it though? Just curious.

I was merely using my friends as a reference, ive based my opinions on autos after having been a passenger with them numerous times. If you choose to overthink things and choose to take offense, then unfortunatley that would appear to be a problem of yours, not mine. I was warned about this forum before I joined, but I thought people were just acting dramatic.

Doesn't seem to have paddle shift like my A500c Esseesse with MTA box.

I think I read somewhere that the dual clutch box might not fit well.

I quite like the MTA box even though I originally wanted a manual!
