2003 Stilo Abarth Standard Factory Alarm

Can anyone let me know what Thatcham Category (if any) the standard factory fit alarm is for the Stilo Abarth (Reg March 2003 on an 03 plate). Is it upgradeable to Category 1 (if it isn't already)

Where is the best place to get this done if you're in sunny Cheshire as I am

I have a 2003 Stilo and it came with a piece of paper From FIAT which says
"DECLARATION
I confirm that all Stilo vehicles are built with the "Fiat Code 2" transponder immobiliser system and are Thatcham Category 2 Approved.
Some Stilo Vehicles will also have a factory fitted Fiat BCTS alarm System that in combination with the standard immobiliser gives these Vehicles Thatcham Category 1 approval.

Although Approved by the Motor Insurance Repair Center (Thatcham) the appropriate certificates have not yet been issued by them but are anticipated shortly.

Interesting, I got a 2002 Stilo and no such bit of paper - saying that, it was second hand and hardly came with anything anyway

I'm in the same position as you Stuart. Even have (an unfilled in) service booklet that doesn't even mention the Stilo!!

Pongo, you're a life saver (that's twice at least!). I'm on my way over to see you today so you'll either know that cos I've rung or be getting a call asap!

I need to review some things with the insurance company and this should hopefully drop the premium

I was told by Fiat that the imobiliser is a cat2 and when you have the optional alarm fitted its upgraded to cat1
