2001 punto

Hi guys,
I have bought a 2001 punto recently. Just a few small things to sort out in it so I was hoping someone here could help me out ,
1. I was on a long spin in it the other day and on the way back I noticed a squeak in the front passenger side wheel. It starts when you hit about 40 mph. I was thing maybe a wheel bearing needs replacing. Would I be right?

2. When you start the car it sounds like fluid gushing around the car. Only way I can describe it is like turning a bottle of water upside down.

3. When I start it in the mornings it is very slow to start up. When you get it started it is fine for the rest of the day. Could this be sorted with a change of battery?

Any help here would be great.

Compression test. Point 2 is a sign of air in the coolant, point 3 a symptom of head gasket failure due to point 2. If the compression tes reveals no faults,get back, but in the Mk2 Punto section.

Point 1 could well be a wheel bearing. Get the wheel off the ground, rotate (see if itfeels rough), pull at the wheel, feel for any play.
