Hey guys, long time lurker first time poster, hoe you're all doing well.

Got my Punto about 3 months ago, love it, perfect first car, cheap to run etc.

Question is though, i've got a wee ding under my headlight in the bumper(long story) and wondering what's the best way to repair it? I can't stand looking at it really, annoys me that whenever I look at the car it's always the first thing I notice.

MySao4W

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Hi and WELCOME TO THE FORUM

As oldhammer says, try again to post a picture up (y)

Sometimes its simply cheaper to keep an eye out for a bumper the same colour as yours on ebay or local scrap yards. They can often be picked up for £20-£30 and dont take long to fit.

A repair including repainting will often be more than a second hand bumper.

Thats more than a "wee ding"! Looks like your wing may be bent slightly too?

You should be able to pick up a used replacement bumper very cheap

Nah my wing is fine, basically there's that bump there plus a little bit of metal bent inside that's about the extent of the damage.

I have tried to remove the bumper to see if I can get a better look and maybe pop out some of the plastic that's bent in but the screws underneath the car are solid and not even WD40 can move them.

Thats a good wee ding there:D
Its hit the end of the chassis leg outer bit but its only tin here so no worries:)

You could take the radiator support off with bumper attached if it made it easier for you but you would need to pop out the radiator brackets and then support it.
You will never get the bumper right by the way as they are Made of strange plastic that succumbs to heat then goes to gloop real quick
another bumper would be better and should be pennies in a scrap yard as basic black ones are never bought anymore

Scrapyard does seem like the best idea to me as well but there isn't any around me as far as I know and my car knowledge is limited to forward, reverse, don't hit things. :p

Its a Mia = Basic of basic's

Which mean you have the plain standard bumpers :)

There is the 5dr - long cheese smile version

the 3dr more sporty looking IMO version

Keep an eye out
You may find 1 matching yours

Or you might be lucky to find some nice 2nd hand colour coded bumpers which really do lift the punto up :)

But if your a 3dr, you need a 3dr rear bumper
if your a 5dr you need a 5dr bumper :)

I'm a 3dr version buddy! Just put a thing up on Facebook to see if anyone local has a bumper to sell, i'm honestly more of a fan of the bumper being black than colour coded tbh. Definitely planning on modding the car in the future once I get through my M.O.T. replace a few things and get some more hours at work!

Yeah i'm planning on giving the car a good clean once the weather brightens up again, I have browsed here and seen all the different cars and you never know, I may get swayed by a colour coded bumper, you'll never know! ;)
