Technical 2001 Ducato stuck in 2 gears after overhaul

I have a 2001 Ducato 5 speed. It started jumping out of fifth gear so I got garage in Sweden to fix it. They got replacement fifth gears and synchro from Fiat.
They have fitted it and now it feels as though it is stuck in 2 gears.
I cannot select fifth and cannot get reverse or neutral.
I cannot see anything wrong but I am not an expert.
I am stuck here. Any help or advice appreciated.

Could just be the cables need adjusting, or pivot is siezed.

Cables are fine and I can move selector levers by hand.
When they stripped it they said it was in fourth gear. I have taken a picture and attached it to show the inside of the box to show the position of the silver rods, don't know technical term for them
Where should the silver rods be to be in neutral?
Do I have to push the silver rods, that are at the side of the brass 5th gear selector, in or pull them out.
If I remove 5th gear altogether can I still drive it just using 4 gears?
Lots of questions, sorry.
