Hi everyone, First post so be gentle :) I have a problem that the car sometimes cuts out when I come to a junction, doesn't do it all the time. When it does cut out it usually starts up first time but on occasions it really doesn't want to start and needs leaving for about ten minutes before it will fire back into life. Has anyone got any ideas as to what it could be.

Would I be right in thinking this could be the TDC sensor breaking down ?

Is it when you pop it into neutral and coast the last few yards coming up to a junction? And at times like this coasting, do the revs drop to the point of stall then pick back up at a standstill?

What I am trying to say is, Is the stall or near stall linked to coasting the last few yards in neutral?
Does it do it if you approach the junction in gear and then foot on the clutch until at standstill?

The engine will just cut out at any time once its hot, its ok during warming up, I had it idling for about 30 minutes on Saturday and it just cut out on its own without doing anything, started it up again and about ten minutes later did it again, this happened a few times. When driving it though it does seem to only do it when you come up to a junction and dip the clutch and gearstick into neutral and again only when the engine is hot.

Oh.......Its a different problem to what I had....
Why dont you post for a Fiat tech ( several on the forum) to advise.
Its a bit quiet down here, you could try elsewhere on a busier part of forum to attract attention,
Good luck:)

Just to update things, replaced the TDC sensor today and it is looking promising its cured the cutting out problem (y)

Have you had the fuel filter replaced recently, this can cause fuel starvation and pressure drop in the injection system.

I definately think it was the TDC sensor as since I've replaced it the engine hasn't cut out at all so fingers crossed its all fine now (y)
