Hi All,
Recently I had a problem with my Stilo. I'd driven to the local supermarket, done my shopping, and when I got back into the car it refused to start. The engine spun from the starter okay, but it just wouldn't catch. I managed to get it going by a jumpstart from a friend, and noticed a "loose connection" error appearing on the dash.
I had it serviced just afterwards and the garage noted an error with the crankshaft sensor. However, it started and drove fine after the service. They didn't fix the sensor, only cleared the alarms.
I stopped in a petrol station on my way down to the office a few days later and again had problems starting the engine after I'd filled up. So the problem only seems to be apparent when the engine is warm.
I've searched on the forum and the possible issue seems to be down to the crankshaft sensor. I've also had a word with the garage and they agree that this could be causing the error.
Anyone else had this problem? Is it down to the crankshaft sensor?
Cheers,
Pooley.
