General 2.3jtd maxi 2004 problems

i have noticed when i stop at a junction and take of blue/white smoke appears for about 3 seconds no loss of power,also if i reverse on a steep slope the same thing happens only 37000mls on van,the van is under warranty but i would like to what the problem may be or how serious

Hi, I have just heard about this site and was brousing to see if anyone had the same problem I have...smoking after tickover and take off.... Did you ever get to the bottom of the problem

I have the same smoke issue with my 2003 van. I'm just starting to investigate and will let you know any findings.

Like yourself, my 2.3JTD smokesas described. After many hours of searching and asking various garages I bought some Forte Oil Seal Conditioner and added it to my engine oil. My engine has done 17K and a lot of replies when I was asking were about the oil seals on the valve stems going brittle and loosing their elasticity.
I have covered about 1.3K since adding and the smoking is definately getting less although not away completely.
Forte can be bought online although it may be worthwhile phoning some local garages to see if they carry it in stock.
