If I remember correctly, that is you're temperature sender for the gauge.

No, this will not stop it.

Have you checked all the other wires are on? If you have done head gasket, and it was running before.

Got spark? Got compression? Got fuel? Should go.

Thanks 'll have another look today. Should get it running

are these interference engines

could i have bent valves and con rods

These engines are pushrod engines.. im not 100% sure if theyre interference or not but you wouldnt of had to mess with the timing, as said already check for spark and fuel, if neither then youll be looking at a crank sensor/tdc sensor, that is indeed a coolant temp sensor and although it womt need it to run.. it will run really bad without it and itll over fuel

cheers

Took the car around the block, theres no power and the engine has a massive tapping noise..

F*ck

Hey will a bottle of hydraulic valve lifter oil help..

i have a really noise car with no power. and i mean, no power

thanks guys

I have no power, it ticks, engine would literally die if i drive it more than 3 or 4 miles. should i try that bottle of valve lifter oil. then if no luck ill replace the engine

Hey Guys

'Head Gasket replaced'..

Couldn't this just be a timing problem with regards to timing marks etc???

It's a pushrod engine. So the timing is unaffected by lifting the head. My guess, he's done it the "clever" way without a manual, so the tappets have drained.

Buy Haynes, try again.
