Introduction

As promised here are a few pictures of my Sisley I picked up yesterday

I'm going to give it a good clean and check over tomorrow but I had to have a play with the 4WD in our field first :D
Got some headlights baking nicely at 150 degrees as I type. Between the three pairs of broken lights, I have enough intact reflector clips to make one good light (I have one good one). Just struggling to get the lens away from the plastic without doing any damage at the moment. I'm using a wide scraper but the plastic is so soft with it being hot it distorts very easily.

I've done the oven trick with some Alfa 156 headlights a few years ago to paint the inside black to make them gta looklike lights

Right, not done much on this since my last post, but decided I had better do something if I want to go to AI Brooklands in it! I've got to repaint the tailgate after I scratched it:eek: and unfortunately the bonnet needs redoing as it has a few blemishes I'm not happy with:(

Doors will be ready to go on once the stickers have been put on, I do need a few bits and pieces which I'm hoping someone might be able to help with.

I've lost one of the bolts that holds the hinge to the tailgate so I need one of those, I am after I good set of inner sill trims (the ones that hold the carpet in place and that go up the A pillar) I bought some new ones from eBay.it but they do not fit properly:mad: and also I need one of the small rubber door buffers that go in the corners of the door jamb. If anyone can help let me know.

Also I want some of the plastic rivets that hold the side trim on, can I still get these from a dealer?

i know that feel man. i am kinda like it with the grey panda.

my mum is like that with the grey panda. she is however tolerant with it being around the back though haha.

i need to start doing work on that when the weather gets a little warmer.. and i dont have to swim in the pit to do any work on a car.

it will be nice to see it in the flesh at a show this year Freddy, you do real good jobs on car restoration work!

Is the grey colour on fallout the same as the Sisley Grey Dragonman?

So a long since my last update once again! Didn't make Brooklands like I wanted to(n) but there has been some very good progress in the last few weeks and I now have something that resembles an almost complete Sisley!

Over Easter I got the door stickers on:

And then fitted the doors to the car:

My Dad came up with the idea of using the forklift to take the weight, leaving us to guide the door into position. Worked really well with no damage, which is always the biggest worry!

Last weekend the spray booth was free so I was able to paint the door frames satin black, this had to wait until the doors were fitted to make sure it was lined up with the satin black on the B pillar.

With that done I have been able to build the doors up and fill them with waxoyl, fit the rear side windows and the side trims.

The bonnet and tailgate are still waiting to be repainted, but should be done by the middle of the week, which will give me a couple of days to get them polished and fitted as the car is entered into a local show on Saturday:eek: Also hoping my new passenger side mirror turns up in time!

I won't have time to paint the wheels the correct colour until after the show, but thankfully they have cleaned up nicely and the roof rack will have to wait until I can get it blasted and powder coated along with the towbar.

Looking Fab Freddy! :yum:

Can you tell Jon that there were two Alfa 4c's at Brooklands! One had Italian plates and was driven by a very Italian looking gentleman. (y)

Cheers Vernon, my dad has already found the video of the red 4C going up the test hill, but I didn't realise there were two there, was the second one a UK car? We are still to see one in the flesh, hopefully that should change soon as the dealer my Dad is buying his from is meant to be getting their Launch Edition cars this week.

Anyway back to Panda's:p The good news is the bonnet and tailgate have been painted this afternoon and the mirror turned up today also so I am on track to be ready for Saturday(y) Still quite alot of work to do but should be doable in the time I have.

The second 4c was white but I didn't look at the reg. no. I'm afraid.

Don't forget to take some pics on Saturday. (y)

Well the Sisley made it to the show yesterday, everything went together well and it was ready to go by Friday lunchtime, thought I might be cutting it a little finer but luckily not. I have not had time to MOT it ofcourse so we trailered it home from my Dads business on Friday evening ready to take to the show on Saturday morning.

We were actually taking all 6 of our 'collection' so we borrowed a 16ft trailer to make moving them all abit easier.

The Austin 7 and 500 just fitted with not much room to spare! We also had the Mk1 Panda and our Piaggio Ape 50 on the trailer which were a perfect fit aswell! Didn't manage to get a photo of that though as it was abit of a rush to get everything there in time and then back again. Anyway we managed to get everything there safe and sound so here are some photos of the cars at the show

The Mini Van is the final car and was the only one we actually drove there:eek: and the Escort is not ours:p The Panda's didn't get that much attention, everyone going for the 500 and Austin instead, but there were a few people having a look and I did speak to a couple of people about them.

Its actually the first time this show has been put on and we were not sure what to expect, but it was really well attended with around 200 cars, we are sure there will be another and were thinking it would be good place for a forum weekend, with the show on the Saturday and some greelaning in the Peak District on the Sunday(y)

ah your 500 was one of the two parked in front of FF stand at stanford hall last year was it not.?

All the cars look great, super jealous of the collection! Particularly the mini van, always wanted one.

Yes it was, I was in the Mk1 Panda and my Dad was in the 500. The Mini Van will be for sale once the interior and some other jobs have been finished off, it has been fully restored and has pretty much new everything.
